The River Bend Astronomy Club (RBAC) prides itself on the level of outreach to the Metro-East area. For a small club, we reach many individuals over a wide area. This year alone, we have traveled as far southwest in Illinois as Valmeyer and as far northeast as Teutopolis. The Astronomical League (AL) recognizes the importance of outreach to the future of amateur astronomy as well as the promotion of science and mathematics, and offers members recognition for these efforts. All RBAC members are AL members and eligible for these awards: Observing (5 events of 2 hours in length), Stellar (50 additional hours), and Master (100 additional hours). In addition, members who promote Library Telescopes are also recognized. Club members qualifying for these awards were recognized at recent meetings.
